Protest balladeer Buffy Sainte-Marie and English acid rock group “Blind Faith” will share the spotlight with other popular performers from around the world on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the first annual Midwest Rock Festival to be presented at State Fair Park in West Allis.
Starting at 5 p.m., Friday’s performance will feature not only Miss Sainte-Marie but also Led Zeppelin, the First Edition, Sweetwater, Pacific Gas and Electric, SRC and the Shag.
Saturday has been named Blind Faith Festival Day and will begin with the group’s appearance at 2 p.m. The four-man rock band was organized a short time ago and features Eric Clapton, former guitarist for the now-separated Cream.
Besides appearances by other nationally known performers, Saturday’s show includes the Beal and the Bloomsbury People of Milwaukee and the Woodbine from Waukesha among local talent featured at the festival.
Sunday’s concert will start at 2 p.m. and headline more rock performers including Jeff Beck, Jethro Tull and the Bob Seger System. The Pablo Light Show will also be presented each evening of the festival.
Advance sale tickets cost $6 per performance or $15 for the entire three days while tickets at the gate will be priced at $7 per day.
